How are you doing today?

Somedays it feels like you just can't continue but then you realize  you've got to hang in there. Things get better as you begin to trust this loving, wonderful spirit of the Universe, this spirit that was there from creation and is here right now, wrapping you in its love. Once there is love there can be no fear. Feel the love and know that you're alright, know that whatevers goes up must come down, nothing remains the same. Change is constant and just feel the change, ride the storm and wait for the calm.
Right this moment, I have a friend whose daughter is battling serious cancer, doctors are ready to stop treatment because nothing appears to be working.
I ask you to be a safe harbour for this person with your prayers and good vibration. Just send it out to this young woman who is in her late 20;s and has a little 2 year old waiting for his mommy to return from the hospital. Say a prayer please.  Thank you.

Safe Harbour Blog

This blog is committed to help you speak your truth in whatever way you want. There is no judgment, no condemnation. You may wish to give your name or remain anonymous. Just unload what is blocking you, what is keeping you from living your dream.
Hope to hear from you.
Have a great day.

Safe Harbour Workshop

A safe harbour workshop was held in Winnipeg last Friday at which facilitators were trained to deliver the workshop to agencies who would then be asked to be a safe harbour location. To become a safe harbour business, you have to have certain values. It has to be committed to equality for all, safety from racial violence and Respect for all.
Hopefully in the months to follow there might be more workshops available to sensitise people in Winnipeg to Safe Harbour principles.
The workshop was brought to Winnipeg by CMARD - a committee of Citizenship Equity Committee. CMARD stands for Canadian Municipality Against Racial Discrimination. The workshop was offered free of charge and they plan on holding more workshops for individuals and organizations.
This blog will feature more information about this really neat program in days to come.

Guilty Verdict for Murder Charges

The trial of  is a wake up call of the level of family violence in the immigrant community. Some may call this honor killing but I call it misogny, the wanton disregard for the lives of women and girls and the patriarchal attitude that still prevail to this day.
Where does a woman go for shelter within the community? Is there such a place? Many immigrant women might not want to access the mainstream shelter for fear of being ostracized by her own community.  Where can she go for safety? Let's discuss

Feeling lost?

Do you need someone to listen to you and help you to solve your problems, I am here to listen and to reflect your thoughts in an empathetic manner. Sometimes it is easier to open up to a stranger than someone you know.
I make no judgement, you never have to reveal yourself.  I am doing this to make a difference in the world.  There are lots of people out there but few listen and take time to really get to hear what someone is saying.
When ever you are ready, send me a note and we will talk
Have a wonderful day

Quotable Quote

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are, So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be, because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.
Keep believing in yourself.
